Alexis turned 1

Today was pretty amazing. Our little Alexis turned 1! It has been difficult and miraculous to think back to a year ago today. It is one day that I do not want to relive as I laid there wondering if I would ever bring my little girl home but I learned how to completely trust in the Lord. I will never forget the day that I got to hold her for the first time and the day she came off all her breathing machines, and the day we got to bring her home or the day Kylee said, "I love my little sister." We are so thankful for our little Alexis and again want to thank our family and friends for all of your help this past year. I know prayers really are answered. Enjoy our little video which is the beginning of Lexi's journey here on earth so far......(thanks Dad for the perfect song...I love you!) Thank you Alexis for all you have taught me and for being quite the fighter.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everybody! We had a great weekend with my parents and sister Heather. The girls sure enjoyed finding eggs and their baskets this morning. Heather and Kylee did just great together finding eggs and it was just neat to watch. Alexis had a blast grabbing at every egg Kylee tried to open. We enjoyed coloring eggs of course and love all the events Hershey has to offer including one of their community easter egg hunts for the kids. We hope you all had an awesome day!

Check out the "Bunny Cake" Grandma and Kylee loved making together. It was so darling and I'm glad Grandma's are filled with these fun ideas. Kylee thought it was the coolest thing.

A Year Ago Today!

We have been reflecting a lot lately on all that went on a year ago. A year ago today exactly I was checked into the hospital for 24 hr. surveillance with no idea that I would be having Alexis just 2 days later. It was one crazy emotional roller coaster and I am just thankful to be home with my family this Easter weekend with 2 healthy daughters. We are extremely thankful for all the prayers and thoughts offered in our behalf throughout the last year. We know the Lord is incharge and watching every step.

We are Back!

Our 5 weeks in Florida are up. Many of you wondered if it would ever get old and the answer is no. The girls were ready to get home to their own beds but leaving paradise is always hard. Skylar and I don't think we could ever get sick of seeing the ocean and being by the beach. We had an awesome time and sure enjoyed all of our company. We are enjoying our tans and adjusting back to the cold! Here are a few pic. from the trip and I hope to put a little montage together soon.
Favorite Past-time...spending time at the Ritz Carlton
Kylee and Easton...Happy spending time together..."Beach Buds"

On our way to Florida!

Well, I just wanted to say good-bye. We are escaping from the cold and heading to Florida for the next 5 weeks while Skylar does a rotation down there...pretty sweet. My parents are letting us stay in their condo just outside of West Palm Beach and we are so excited to hangout on the beach. Kylee has been talking about it non-stop and just can't wait. We absolutely love it down there as most of you know. However, we won't have a computer for the most part so we will update you when we get back and I'm sure Alexis will be crawling by then. She has an incredible reach and already wants whatever Kylee has. She has accomplished the scoot and we tried to catch it on video quickly since we know she will be crawling soon.

She is doing great and we are amazed at how quickly she is filling in the gap. She is 10 months old but to us only 7.

Innocence of childhood

Kylee's tummy has been bothering her off and on the last two days and today when she told me her tummy was hurting again I replied, "You must have a little stomach bug." She looked at me like I was nuts and said, "What's a stomach bug?" As I began to explain our pun on words she quickly said, "Like when we have butterflies in our tummy" It is just amazing how fast kids pick up on stuff. We explained this phrase to her after some of the rides at Hershey Park and after I said it a few weeks ago on our way to church when I was about to start my new calling ("Mom, you can't have butterflies in your tummy...that's silly). She now understands it...I think, and has begun using the phrase herself. I just love this girl to death and have so much fun chatting with her every day.

Christmas 2007

We celebrated Christmas just as a family in our home for the first time. We had a blast watching Kylee's excitement and being Santa (shh..) As fun as it was we sure missed family but are thankful that Alexis is healthy and doing well as we continue to make it through RSV season. We want to thank our parents for spoiling our kids as usual. You definitely helped pack our tree with presents. We've had fun throughout the month visiting Hershey Park, decorating, having visits from my parents and Skylar's mother, and of course celebrating Christmas.
Kylee loved all of her gifts but has been having a great time taking care of her baby doll that talks to her. It is the funniest thing...."No baby, we can't play right now I'm changing your nasty diaper." "Ok, just a second and I'll tell you a story" "Mom, my baby is starving I have to give her a bottle or Mom, can you watch her for a minute while I go the bathroom." Alexis continues to be entertained the most by just watching Kylee move around non-stop or trying to eat what ever toy Kylee is playing with. She was in good spirts Christmas morning and loved sucking on the wrapping paper.

Christmas Dresses

Well, after buying almost every dress in the store awhile ago with my Mom to make sure the sizes weren't picked over we decided on these ones...and we loved them!!! It is so fun to put the girls in matching clothes when it works out and I need to thank Grandma for all her help finding the girls their dresses. Kylee has had fun getting dressed up, wearing her "clipity-clop" shoes and doing her make-up with Mom. Sorry I didn't post these pictures earlier but Merry belated Christmas! We just love this little miracle girl and all her smiles!

After about 20 tries we finally got one with Kylee's real smile.

We hope you all had a great Christmas! We had a nice quiet one just the 4 of us and I hope to post pictures from it soon.

T'was the month of December

T'was the month of snowy December
At the Alsop's Hershey Abode,
Kylee awaited her presents eagerly
Full of excitement and ready to explode.

"I have really been good Daddy,"
"I've been sharing all my toys,"
"I am nice to all my friends,
and not making too much noise."

Her plea was considered thoughtfully
And a visit from Santa was forcast.
What would we do without children?
They make Holidays such a blast.

We hope everyone is doing great
The air is full of good cheer,
To all of you a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!
