Christmas 2007

We celebrated Christmas just as a family in our home for the first time. We had a blast watching Kylee's excitement and being Santa (shh..) As fun as it was we sure missed family but are thankful that Alexis is healthy and doing well as we continue to make it through RSV season. We want to thank our parents for spoiling our kids as usual. You definitely helped pack our tree with presents. We've had fun throughout the month visiting Hershey Park, decorating, having visits from my parents and Skylar's mother, and of course celebrating Christmas.
Kylee loved all of her gifts but has been having a great time taking care of her baby doll that talks to her. It is the funniest thing...."No baby, we can't play right now I'm changing your nasty diaper." "Ok, just a second and I'll tell you a story" "Mom, my baby is starving I have to give her a bottle or Mom, can you watch her for a minute while I go the bathroom." Alexis continues to be entertained the most by just watching Kylee move around non-stop or trying to eat what ever toy Kylee is playing with. She was in good spirts Christmas morning and loved sucking on the wrapping paper.

Christmas Dresses

Well, after buying almost every dress in the store awhile ago with my Mom to make sure the sizes weren't picked over we decided on these ones...and we loved them!!! It is so fun to put the girls in matching clothes when it works out and I need to thank Grandma for all her help finding the girls their dresses. Kylee has had fun getting dressed up, wearing her "clipity-clop" shoes and doing her make-up with Mom. Sorry I didn't post these pictures earlier but Merry belated Christmas! We just love this little miracle girl and all her smiles!

After about 20 tries we finally got one with Kylee's real smile.

We hope you all had a great Christmas! We had a nice quiet one just the 4 of us and I hope to post pictures from it soon.

T'was the month of December

T'was the month of snowy December
At the Alsop's Hershey Abode,
Kylee awaited her presents eagerly
Full of excitement and ready to explode.

"I have really been good Daddy,"
"I've been sharing all my toys,"
"I am nice to all my friends,
and not making too much noise."

Her plea was considered thoughtfully
And a visit from Santa was forcast.
What would we do without children?
They make Holidays such a blast.

We hope everyone is doing great
The air is full of good cheer,
To all of you a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year!
Skylar's contribution
He is the poet in our family

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

We spent Thanksgiving in NJ with my parents and were able to carry on my childhood tradition of going to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC. The weather was absolutely amazing. One of the warmest years I can ever remember. We went every year growing up to this parade and it has been fun to be able to return again with Kylee and Skylar. The balloons tend to change a little from year to year but there has always been... the same crowd excitement, my family sitting in the same spot, beginning our wait with Dunkin Dounuts, clowns throwing confetti, us hoping the bands are playing in front of us, trying to get on TV or in the newspaper and Santa finishing the parade off. I have so many memories from this fun tradition and still even had my Dad driving the family in. I've enjoyed going down memory lane and sharing it with my family minus Alexis. (We did leave Lexi home with a friend in fear of any weather and the crowds). We had a great time and tried to capture a little bit of the parade in this video clip.

Preschool Thanksgiving celebration

Kylee in all her glory at her first preschool concert. Our little singer has been practicing the songs all month and I had a blast watching her perform. I still can't believe I have a preschooler.
What a cute little Indian!!!! They all received Indian names and Kylee's was "Morning Glory"
I just love this girl to bits even though we have entered the stage of trying to boss Mom around. She can be so dang cute one minute and sassy as can be the next...oh the joys of mothering. We just love her preschool and she is having a great time there. We've gone from, "mom don't leave" to "mom, don't forget my hug and kiss" and now "mom, hurry and say good-bye I want to sit by my friends." I know I'm posting these pictures a little late but I'm still trying to get the hang of this thing.

Blogger Newcomers

Well, the list of people asking me to start a blog just keeps getting longer and longer so we have finally jumped on the bandwagon. My only worry is that when I figure this whole thing out you will all be switching to another program! (ha ha). I know I recently just sent pictures out to most of you so we thought we'd include some video from our constant entertainment.

The girls are growing up so fast and we continue to just have a blast with them. We are thankful for every milestone Alexis hits. Kylee is our constant mover and Skylar and I are always looking for new ways to entertain her. Saturday morning she asked to go pretend sledding in the garage when she found her snowboots, so........Skylar came up with this clever idea as we wait for real snow.
