CELTIC PRIDE

So, here it is. My first post. I had to get Cheryl’s permission, but what I witnessed last night has inspired me beyond words. The greatest team in sports is finally back in the NBA finals! I have waited 21 YEARS……….SERIOUSLY…….. for this moment!!!!!! One of my earliest childhood memories (I was 4 or 5) is of my father and I watching the Boston Celtics and falling in love with Bird, the Leprechaun, and that sacred parquet floor. I remember listening to Dick Stockton call the games like it was yesterday. There was nothing in sports like Bird vs Magic, the Celtics vs the Lakers and I lived and breathed every minute of it.
Watching Pierce and Garnett hit those amazing shots down the stretch last night, taking their place along side the Greats in Celtic history, was nothing short of ecstasy. Seeing them finally start to understand what it means to wear that Green jersey…wow…I have the chills all over! I can already hear the scream of the 20,000 Boston faithful chanting BEAT L.A.! BEAT L.A.! BEAT L.A.! Heck, I might just have to drive up to Boston and become part of history. I would give up my pinky fingers and a few other body parts for another Celtic Championship! Sports fans, it just simply doesn’t get any better than this.

The Extra Inch

The things we will do to be a "Reeses"! Kylee is about one inch shy of qualifying for the next height bracket at Hershey Park. She is currently a "kiss" and is dying to be a "Reeses" so she can go on some of the bigger rollercoasters....of coarse her Daddy decided to solve the problem! Sky went on the hunt for the tallest flip flops he could find. What do you think? Our 3 year old (almost 4) went on her first rollercoaster with a loop over the weekend with Skylar. As they entered the park Sky tried to start with some of her favorites but she was determined. "No Dad, I've got my new flipflops and I want to go on the big girl rides." We have never seen Kylee scared on a single ride and even at 2 she loved the big hill on the log flume. The little rides just haven't been cutting it lately. I know, pretty pathetic. She already talks about going on the "Claw" someday which spins you around while moving you upside down in a circle. I've told her that Mommy and Daddy don't even want to go on that ride. "That's ok Mom, I'll just go on it with Uncle Taylor and Aunt Laura. Well well, there's no stopping this girl.

favorite past times for the girls

Lexi's current favorite past time when not bugging her sister is making mischief in the bathroom. If Alexis is left alone for even 2 minutes she finds her way to the bathroom! She loves unrolling the toilet paper and playing in the toilet bowl. I've learned to live with the toilet paper at times but the toilet bowl just isn't gonna cut it. We are slowly training ourselves (including Kylee) to remember to put the lid back down.

The other day while Sky's family was visiting Sky caught our biggest bullfrog yet! Kylee was thrilled and as you can see she has no fear of holding them. This is for sure one of her favorite past times and she was happy to show uncle Ry Ry, Nana and Papa Ted her favorite pond!

My favorite Past time!!!!

There is not much that can get me out of bed early on a Saturday morning except for Garage Sales! Yes...Garage Sales!!! I am truly addicted and love every minute of it. The season is upon us and I am found counting down the days until each Saturday morning. I almost can't sleep on Friday nights as I'm filled with anticipation for what I may find the next morning. Believe me, this is no exaggeration...just ask Skylar. He is just shocked at my excitement and now compares it to his love for golf. Quote, "You get as excited for a garage sale as I do for a round of golf." The family knows to greet me as I return on Saturday mornings with my new treasures. Kylee loves it as she anticipates a new toy every week. She is currently enjoying her princess scooter that I found for a buck and Alexis is riding in style in her Britax carseat (great condition) for 20 bucks. Pennsylvania has the greatest neighborhood yard sales in these new developments. You can hit like 20 homes in one neighborhood most filled with barely used kids toys and clothing. But you've got to know which ones to hit. It is sooooooooo much fun and gets me sooooooo pumped. Some of my friends even place orders on things I am to find for them. I know, I am pathetic but had to share in my current excitement. This all began about 2 years ago and now I must claim being a professional bargainer and garge sale expert! I won't bore you with a list of my findings but if anyone is interested I have plenty of fun stories. Thanks for humoring me through this totally exciting post!

"Can we go to the Pond"

The pond has been waiting for us all winter long! Kylee is in all her glory again enjoying as much time as she can at the pond around the corner from our home. I can't begin to count the amount of hours we have spent there over the past few years. Sky and Ky have become very good at catching tadpoles, frogs, and fish. It was our quest last year to find the perfect net...which is currently a net ducktaped to a shower rod to give them the length they need...pretty clever I must say. The kids along our street have caught on to this fun adventure and Sky often has a crew that wants to go with him and Kylee now. We caught a little footage from our time there yesterday. Kylee has a smile from cheek to cheek when we are at the pond. There is so much excitement with each thing they catch. She often holds the frogs, tadpoles, fish and then we throw them back but we made an exception last night as we had a container for the frog. We thought it would stay in the garage but of course Ky was concerned he would be scared at night so he came in. He is currently in our home...making plenty of noise...and continuing to freak me out! When Daddy comes home the plan is to take the froggy back to his Mom and Dad!

A HAPPY HAPPY Mom is Back!

Yes! this is another Florida post! I know many of you want to kill me but let's just see how many Florida posts I can actually make in one year...hee hee hee! My time away was amazing and my Mom definitely took care of spoiling Laura and me. It was so much fun hanging out with them for a couple of days and not packing up a huge bag of kids stuff when we headed up to the "Ritz". They often heard me saying, "I feel like I'm forgetting something."

Sky did awesome with the girls! They had tons of fun together. When Kylee discovered that the trip I was taking was to Florida her comment was, "Oh no Daddy, she is going to be tanner than me." Followed by a few tears but Skylar assured her that there were some clouds in the sky and that summer was coming. What is ahead of me if these comments are coming out at 3 years old? We had a blast eating out, shopping and soaking up the Florida rays. With how well things went at home I guess I 'll just have to take this trip again! Sky has already noticed a new energy level from me since I've been home. I loved every minute of the trip! Thank you Thank you.

Kylee's Haircut

Kylee finally agreed to go get her hair cut. She had a good 3 in. cut off. Ky lucked out by getting her mother's thin fine hair that looks pretty straggly on her the longer it gets. She has enjoyed having it grow longer and longer but it was just time for a healthy cut. We had it chopped yesterday without telling Daddy and Kylee was so excited to surprise him at the airport. She is enjoying her haircut but having a hard time with the fact that she can't hold onto her hair in the back and twirl it for her comfort. She is found doing this when riding in the car, watching TV, and going to sleep so this is causing quite the little adjustment for a day or two. But she has informed us that it will grow back. I've had a hard time grabbing a few pictures. Everything looks better in person so just come and visit. Hershey is a fun place in the summer and spring.

Yeah!!!

I know I haven't posted anything in a while. This is not due to the lack of things to talk about but more not knowing how to express my thoughts in words. The biggest thing in my mind right now is realizing how I just couldn't make it as a single mother. I am so thankful for a husband who plays an active roll with the girls once he comes home from work in the evenings. He has been out of town for the last 4 days and gets home late tonight....yeah!!!!! We made it. Don't get me wrong, I love my girls to death and enjoy doing so much with them but come 5:00 or 4:00 in my world right now I am just done or need a break from the... "MOM, you make me do everything!" Kylee's latest phrase right now as I think she is realizing that I'm not here to just be at her beck and call. or, "Mom, I'm so bored!" Or, "no mom you're not incharge I can do what I want." Trust me, I really do love this girl to bits but she is sure testing the waters right now. However, my husband is coming to my rescue. He gets 20 vacation days a year right now and we often use them for family trips or when his family comes to visit or for the trip he just took to see his brother that just got back from his mission....all great great things! But I want a vacation day too! I'm heading back to Florida!...don't kill me everybody...I know I was just there. Skylar, is staying home with the girls while I spend a few days with my mom and sister. I'm just beyond excited and can't believe we've pulled this off. It has been one crazy year with Lexi and me both trying to recover and one emotional rollercoaster. I'm nervous to go and am trying to have everything in order. I know Sky can handle it but you all know how much I worry about everything. The goal is to just fully relax...something that is difficult for me to do. I'm always thinking about something or knowing I should be spending my time differently but in these conditions I better pull it off. Thanks Sky for allowing this to happen. You definitely win the #1 husband award from me!

Alexis turned 1

Today was pretty amazing. Our little Alexis turned 1! It has been difficult and miraculous to think back to a year ago today. It is one day that I do not want to relive as I laid there wondering if I would ever bring my little girl home but I learned how to completely trust in the Lord. I will never forget the day that I got to hold her for the first time and the day she came off all her breathing machines, and the day we got to bring her home or the day Kylee said, "I love my little sister." We are so thankful for our little Alexis and again want to thank our family and friends for all of your help this past year. I know prayers really are answered. Enjoy our little video which is the beginning of Lexi's journey here on earth so far......(thanks Dad for the perfect song...I love you!) Thank you Alexis for all you have taught me and for being quite the fighter.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everybody! We had a great weekend with my parents and sister Heather. The girls sure enjoyed finding eggs and their baskets this morning. Heather and Kylee did just great together finding eggs and it was just neat to watch. Alexis had a blast grabbing at every egg Kylee tried to open. We enjoyed coloring eggs of course and love all the events Hershey has to offer including one of their community easter egg hunts for the kids. We hope you all had an awesome day!

Check out the "Bunny Cake" Grandma and Kylee loved making together. It was so darling and I'm glad Grandma's are filled with these fun ideas. Kylee thought it was the coolest thing.
